V-Talks
Vicharana in action — conversations that go beyond the classroom.
At the heart of our lab is the spirit of Vicharana — the act of deep reflection and inquiry. V-Talks (Vicharanashala Talks) are the living embodiment of this spirit. We believe that insightful conversations shouldn’t be confined to the walls of academia.
A Crossroads for Diverse Perspectives
V-Talks bring together people from different walks of life. We invite professionals, creators, and thinkers to discuss themes that resonate far beyond the classroom.
For Everyone: While these topics are vital for our students and faculty, they are designed for anyone curious about the world. Whether you are part of a university or have nothing to do with academia, V-Talks offer a space to engage with ideas that affect our shared human experience.
Dialogue in Motion: These are not static presentations. True to the spirit of the lab, V-Talks are about interaction. It is about the spark that happens when a diverse audience questions, reflects, and interacts with a speaker’s lived experience.
Vicharana in Action: We pick general, yet profound, topics and explore them through the lens of active reflection.
From the Series
V-Talk One — Averell Spencer, Co-founder & CEO, Launch Girls | MIT & Harvard Alumna The Entrepreneurial Mindset
What does it take to build something from nothing — and what does that have to do with how students should be thinking about their education? Averell Spencer, co-founder and CEO of Launch Girls and an alumna of both MIT and Harvard, brought the lived reality of entrepreneurship into the room. Not as a success story to be admired from a distance, but as a mindset — a way of approaching problems, uncertainty, and growth that students can begin practising long before they ever start a company.
V-Talk Two — Dr. Shyam Raghunath Joshi How to Actually Learn
Everyone is told to study harder. Far fewer are ever taught how to actually learn. Dr. Shyam Raghunath Joshi turned the spotlight on something students interact with every day but rarely examine: the mechanics of learning itself. From retention to reflection, the session unpacked practical techniques that help learners become more deliberate, more effective, and ultimately more independent — the kind of session that students leave wanting to rethink how they have been approaching their own education entirely.
